As Max prepares to graduate in 2 weeks, I’m remembering the day his Dad and him told me he was gonna leave Ridge and go to the academy.
Clearly I thought they were crazy but almost 2 years later and I can honestly say it was the best thing ever for Max.
He entered the Academy a boy and came out of it a Man.
Besides the amazing academics and wrestling, Max learned manors, how to public speak, how to solve problems on his own and he changed in so many positive ways. He continued his private Italian classes, he just enrolled in Ridge in mostly honors classes and he is stronger physically and mentally.

The BEST decision Gina and I made for Dante was sending him to the Scorpions Academy. I can’t begin to express all the positivity that has come from that decision so far.

My 2 year review of The Academy @ Scorpions in Fairfield NJ. I was very hesitant to send Gino there since it was the first year of the Academy & there were so many unknowns. I remember talking to other parents & said I was going to go with my gut & send Gino. Gino wasn't a member of Scorpions but was a drop in on different occasions.
After speaking to Jamie Edward Ciofalo who was handling the education part of the Academy I was sold. It's not an understatement but it's the best decision I ever made in my life (besides marrying Gino's mother) was enrolling Gino.
Head coach Omar Feliciano is absolutely one of the kindest & nicest people I have ever met. He has treated Gino like a son since the moment he met him. He has done so much for my son over the past 2 years that I could never repay him. Truly what every parent is looking for in a coach, mentor for their child. I can only hope he will always be a part of my son's life even after wrestling.
Coach Gabriel Roman is probably one of the best individuals I have ever come across. He is an inspiring coach & a true friend to the kids he coaches. He has been one of Gino's greatest role models & a person my son listens & looks up to.
Coach Jamie Edward Ciofalo has helped my son achieve his academic goals & break through walls we didn't think were possible. Gino received academic scholarships from some of the top catholic schools in the state. Gino was accepted to all the top schools in NJ & some of the best prep wrestling schools in the country.
