Community of Excellence: Designed for high-achieving student-athletes who aspire to attend a private high school, Advanced Player Academy, powered by NJ Diamondbacks Baseball, provides opportunities to train with like-minded baseball players who not only push each other to excellence but also create a supportive community that fosters camaraderie, teamwork, and a shared commitment to success on and off the field.
Baseball Training: Delivered by seasoned baseball coaches, our all-encompassing program primes baseball players for high school success. We delve into every facet of the game, from honing position-specific skills to dissecting game strategies. Our student-athletes receive up to 10 hours of baseball instruction and training and 5 hours of sport-specific speed, strength, and agility training each week.
Academic Excellence: Academics come first at Advanced Player Academy, powered by NJ Diamondbacks Baseball. Our dedicated instructors support our student-athletes in reaching their full potential in the classroom. Our educational program includes preparation for the High School Placement Test (HSPT) and high school honors placement exams, giving you the competitive edge to excel academically. Our student-athletes receive up to 15 hours of in-person academic instruction in small groups and must complete an additional 10 hours of "homework" weekly.
BASEBALL STAFF
COACH JUSTIN VALDESPINA
Pitching Director - New Jersey Diamondbacks
Coach Valdespina was drafted in the 15th round by the Colorado Rockies in 2016 and played for the Rockies organization for three seasons. He played the 2019 season with the Rockland Boulders and the 2022 Season with the Boise Hawks in the Pioneer League.
Coach Valdespina attended Southern New Hampshire University from 2013-2016. He fanned 116 hitters in 107 innings in two seasons while pitching to a 3.20 ERA. In 2016, he went 10-3 with a 2.89 ERA in 81 innings and struck out 91.
Coach Valdespina captained the Garfield High School team that earned a state championship appearance. He finished the season with a 1.60 ERA and batted .420 in his senior year as Team MVP. He was also named First Team All-League and All-County Honorable Mention.
COACH JORDAN MANNE
Coach Manne is a certified Youth Baseball Development Coach.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from William Paterson University, where he finished his career with a record of 11-5 and 71 strikeouts.
Coach Manne received recognition for his academic accomplishments and was named to the 2019-20 and 2020-21 Academic All-NJAC Team and the Spring 2019 Dean’s List.
Coach Manne graduated from Mahwah High School, where he was named H.S. Male Athlete of the Week by The Record in April 2016. He attended the University of Rhode Island before attending William Paterson University.

The Advanced Player Academy (APA) brings together the best coaches, instructors, and organizations. We strive to give our athletes opportunities to learn at the highest level. The 2022 Advanced Player Academy is designed for the committed baseball and softball player ages 10-18.
